The majority of the Atlantic Modified Tour drivers made their way south to Rural Route 660 for race number eight on the 2023 schedule.

In the heat race, the 75 car of Mr. Excitement – Doug Matchett, would take the victory on a photo finish with the 17 car of Joe Hoyt.

The 58 of Yves McCray would battle the 2W of Chris Wilson for most of the race but in the end, the 2W would be disqualified in post-race tech, handing the victory to 58-car. A 43-point difference between leader McCray and 5th place Wilson would separate the two in the standings. The 75 of Matchett would finish second in the feature while Kevin Bailey rounded out the podium.

Two weeks from now, an AMT doubleheader will kick off on Friday of SpeedWeekend in the Geary woods. First up, the second annual George Fitzpatrick memorial race which is considered to be one of the highest paying Modified tour races in the Maritimes. On Sunday, you can officially see race points race number nine of the Atlantic Modified Tour season when the cars and stars lineup for a matinee event. Racing Sunday starts at 2pm.
